"One Loaf of Barley Bread"

In Judges 7, Gideon went out to fight the Midianites with his 300 men against an army of 135,000. In the middle of the night, the Midianites woke up with the sound of jars being broken in the ground and a loud trumpet sound. Being awakened from their sleep they were confused, they killed each other and fled away.

I have learned today that it was not the victory that is the focus in this chapter, but it was how God worked into Gideon's heart. Gideon was faint in heart but he was willing to trust and obey God. He was turned from faintheartedness to boldness in God.

Also in this passage, I was reminded again that it is not my responsibility to understand God and on how He would accomplish His plan. He has an all seeing eye... I do not. He knows how the story would go centuries from now... I do not. Whatever it is that He asked me to do I am not responsible of controlling its course. LET THE HAND OF GOD TAKE ITS OWN COURSE. Even if God would explain it to me, I might not have the capacity (for now) to understand it completely.

Gideon dreamt of a round loaf of barley bread rolling down the tent of the Midianites, it toppled down the tent. It was an affirmation that God would give the Midianites into their hands that day.

One round loaf of barley bread. That's how God wants it, He wants it small.

UWB is kinda like a tent, it's big. And we at BCC is that one loaf of barley bread, when we are willing, for God to work in our hearts, He can change our faintheartedness to a heart of an obstacle OVERCOMER for His glory.
