Trumpet-blast

It was mentioned in Joshua 6 that the seven priests were to make a trumpet blast at the end of their seven days of marching the Walls of Jericho.

This trumpet is not the silver trumpet but a ram's horn. The same trumpet that they used when God was going to come down from Mount Sinai to reveal himself to the Israelites.

Same trumpet blast was found in the story of the Exodus, when the Israelites were in the wilderness.

In these stories the trumpet blasts was a signal used TO ANNOUNCE;

1.Gracious arrival of the Lord the God of Israel.

2. Grace and Mercy that is granted for His people as His presence comes.

3. God coming to overthrow and destroy the power of sin.


-I could only imagine how it went that day when they Israelites went to blow their trumpets in Jericho. The movie Lord of the Rings, Return of the King reminds me of this story.
