The Heart Of A Child

It was the last day of school for my Pre-K daughter, I picked her up 2:30pm. As she was approaching the car I noticed she was walking really really slow as she was holding this white paper bag.

She mentioned she has something in the bag for me, daddy, sister and lolo. We got home and she was so excited about the gift she was about to give. Inside the bag was a mug filled w/ a hot cocoa packet and a gingerbread cookie, it was wrapped in tissue. The mug explained why she was walking so slow, so she won't drop it.

She excitedly took out the hot cocoa packet and wrapped it in tissue. She then started to give her gifts... gingerbread cookie for lolo... a drawing of gingerbread cookie for sister. She came to me and handed me the hot cocoa carefully wrapped in tissue. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness. Later in the evening, she waited for daddy to come home and gave him the mug.

It is amazing how pure and sweet, and thoughtful the heart of a child is. Maybe our Heavenly Father feels the same way when we express our love for Him out of a pure, childlike heart.

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked,
"Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"

He called a little child and had him stand among them.

And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children,

you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child

is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 18:1-4]

----There is much to learn from these little children.

"We are to be childlike, with humble and sincere hearts, weak and dependent people with no status or influence, teachable, simple in their wants, have expectant attitutes, and depend on their fathers to meet their needs" - wiersbe
